OLED displays have made sufficient progress towards commercialisation to be promoted from the '3-5 years away' category, says technology news website Ars Technica.
Products such as the Microsoft Zune smartphone and the Nikon Coolpix S70 will provide a platform for the wider integration of OLED screens, as increased demand drives production costs down.
With the likes of LG planning displays for the television market too, it seems that the technology is gradually shifting from mid-term commercialisation to approaching more widescale adoption.
