E-readers struggle to convince consumers

25 Aug 2009

Some respondents preferred the feel of a paperback to an e-readerA recent report by the NDP Group suggests that e-readers still need to persuade consumers to move from printed books and periodicals.

The E-readers Snapshot Report survey found that 40% of respondents were 'somewhat uninterested' or 'not interested at all,' compared to 37% who were interested in buying an e-reader.

However, while this is still a sizeable chunk of respondents who are interested in e-reader technology, those in the former category may prove difficult to persuade: almost 70% preferred the feel of a printed book.
