The Displax technology could project touchscreen capability onto a number of surfacesMulti-touch functionality could be added to many surfaces with a new display device from Displax.

The company has developed a nanowire-embedded polymer film that can be placed on a number of surfaces to create projective capacitive touchscreen technology, reports Pocket-lint.

The device is due to be in commercial use by the end of 2010, according to the Portuguese company. Applications include shop windows and tablet PCs like the iPad.
