Dyesol and IntertechPira to deliver 2010 dye solar cell event

Sara Ver-Bruggen - 22 Jan 2010

Dyesol logoDSC-IC 2010 is being organised by Dyesol and IntertechPira - come along to see how your organisation can be part of this dynamic third generation solar cell industry.

Third generation solar cells promise low-cost, flexible and ubiquitous sources of renewable energy for the future. Dye solar cells (DSC) - one type of this class of advanced PV technologies - convert light to energy in an artificial photosynthesis process.

Australia-based Dyesol licenses patents on these cells, discovered by Professor Michael Graetzel at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland. Dyesol is developing the technology for commercial application by collaborating with academic institutes and industrial partners around the world.

To help advance the industry, Dyesol has organised regular conferences with strong academic programmes and themes - in Australia, Switzerland and, most recently, Japan - that bring together scientists and industrialists to share DSC knowledge and talk over new opportunities for the technology.

This year, Dyesol and IntertechPira will work together to deliver a world-class event and open it up to a wider audience of companies that could develop new products based on DSCs, or become suppliers to the industry.

The event, to be held in Denver, Colorado in October, will comprise a programme that includes speakers from companies at the forefront of DSC commercialisation. Delegates can learn about the latest breakthroughs in materials R&D and progress of commercialisation projects whilst networking with scientists, engineers, industrialists, investors, brand owners, materials and equipment suppliers from around the world.

+Plastic Electronics magazine: The DSC Issue

+Plastic Electronics magazine: The DSC Issue will be available at the conference. The issue will provide exclusive coverage of R&D and commercialisation efforts, in applications such as portable chargers and BIPV. Based on interviews with experts and companies exploiting third generation solar cell technologies, editorial will include case studies, profiles, technology trends and market forecasts for DSC, to provide unparalleled analysis of this emerging industry.
