Plextronics announces progress in organic solar cell production

Solar ink producer Plextronics has announced advances in its inks and processing tools in a company press release.

An organic solar cellThe Pittsburgh, PA-based company has announced its solar ink, the Plexcore PV 2000, which can be used in self-powering devices such as point-of-sale displays and signage.

The second announcement is the ability to process organic solar cells at low temperatures. This makes it easier to produce cells using low-cost substrates, such as plastic. The company claims annealing can be achieved at below 65ºC.
