An EU project to develop smart textiles for heart monitoring is currently trialling materials in clinical studies.
The MyHeart project, coordinated by Philips, is developing sensing bed sheets and vests to monitor the condition of 200 patients with congestive heart failure, explains healthcare news website HealthTech Wire.
The research is funded with €16 million of European Commission money under the Sixth Framework Programme and €18 million from project partners, and will be completed in 2010.
