
Air travel's heyday - when flying on a plane equated with luxury, comfort, glamour and exclusivity - is long behind us. In exchange for cheap, convenient air travel, flying is something most
consumers now endure with gritted teeth, feeling like one of the herd as
opposed to minor royalty.
Despite being part of one of the industries worst hit by the global recession, some aircraft manufacturers and airliners are investing funds from their limited R&D budgets in OLEDs and other emerging technologies to make flying an enjoyable and comfortable experience for all passengers again.
