Plextronics and Novaled collaborate on OLED lighting development

09 Sep 2009

Novaled AG, a leading supplier of OLED materials in Germany and Plextronics, a developer of conductive organic inks in the US, have announced a collaboration agreement to co-develop doped and solution-processed organic materials for OLED lighting applications.

Plextronics and Novaled collaborateOLED lighting promises to drive a new era of illumination with its flexible design and energy efficiency advantages and has the potential to grow into a billion-dollar market over the next five years.

The collaboration will enable the companies to combine their respective IP to develop an advanced Hole Injection Layer (HIL) technology for OLEDs. By leveraging the Plextronics organic conductive ink technology and Novaled's organic dopant technology, the collaboration will target advanced HIL materials for use with solution-processed polymer and small molecule emitters, as well as with vacuum-deposited versions.
