An official launch date and a name for the Plastic Logic e-reader

19 Oct 2009

The name and logo for Plastic Logic's new e-reader Plastic Logic has officially announced it will launch its e-reader at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), held annually in Las Vegas, on 7 January 2010.

The product is called the Que ProReader and has been developed for business and professional users.

No images of the e-reader or information on pricing is avaliable yet, though a device to buy will probably cost in the region of several hundred dollars.

Commercially available e-readers cost between $200 and $800 depending on functionality and other factors.

Plastic Logic says its e-reader will support document formats including PDF, Word, PowerPoint and Excel documents and features powerful tools for interacting with, and managing, the content.

The Que store, claims Plastic Logic, will offer the most significant collection of business reading available on any eReader. The store is powered by Barnes & Noble, the world's largest eBookstore.
