Taiwan's Ministry of Education will equip children with colour e-readers, as it tackles the 'digital divide' in the country.
Part of Taiwan's education initiative includes providing students with e-readers, although the number of devices is not known yet.
A PC World report suggests that the Aiptek inColor e-reader - which has an 8-inch colour screen and 1GB of flash memory for storage - will be the model adopted by schools.
The government intends to raise educational standards and enhance knowledge of and access to digital technology, as part of an TWD$80 (€1.7) billion stimulus plan.
