PolyIC unveils in-house print progress

07 Oct 2009

Germany-based printed RFID company PolyIC has announced its latest in-house production results and can now demonstrate roll-to-roll production of high-resolution conductive tracks on transparent plastic film.

PolyICAt a resolution of 15μm, the tracks take up less than 10% of film surface space. PolyIC claims it is possible for the technology to replace indium-tin oxide in displays, touch sensor or electric heating applications.

Indium resources have been dwindling for the last 4-5 years and a handful of R&D centres and university start-ups are focusing on alternative materials to develop conductive layers for touch screen electronics.
