Speakers from the likes of Philips Research, Fibretronic and Textronics will discuss the commercialisation of smart textiles and e-textile applications at Smart Fabrics 2010.
IntertechPira's two-day event, taking place on 14-16 April in Miami, Florida, US, will cover opportunities for smart fabric devices in sports, healthcare and military applications, how products can enter the fashion domain and advances in technology to power e-textiles.
Two pre-conference seminars will encourage debate and education on 'Wearable Electronics for Illuminated Costumes and Clothing' (with Janet Hansen, founder and chief fashion engineer of Enlighted Designs) and 'Do it Yourself' (with Leah Buechley, assistant professor at MIT Media Lab).
