The South Korean army will use smart textile uniforms, following funding from the Ministry of Knowledge Economy.
Korean news website JoonAng Daily reports that KRW500 million (€322,797) has been appropriated for the development of materials. The aim is to create a military uniform that integrates information technology, according to the report.
In February, Fast Company reported that the UK Ministry of Defence awarded a research grant to wearable technology developer Intelligent Textiles to create a conductive textile that could power communication and health monitoring devices.
