Global printing company Xerox has created a silver ink for the printing of plastic electronics or smart textiles.
A report on technology website VentureBeat says that the company is now in discussions with potential users of the ink.
Xerox's silver ink can be melted at 140°C, meaning that it is suitable for deposition on plastic. The production process, which does not require clean room facilities or complex process steps, could provide a cheap and simple way of making smart textile clothing or producing displays for e-readers.
