US solar window developer New Energy Technologies has developed the first completely see-through, energy-generating window.
The company's SolarWindow technology takes the development of organic photovoltaic (OPV) windows a step further than the opaque designs currently offered in the organic electronics industry, according to a New Energy press release.
Glass maker Pilkington Glass is working on solar integration projects, while Konarka is working with US firm Arch Aluminum & Glass on trial installations, as part of continued developments for OPV windows.
