Arizona State University has installed new tools in its Flexible Display Centre, which allows it to upscale production of large OLED displays.
The new vacuum and encapsulation process tool produced by Sunic Systems will allow the university's partner companies to continue development of flexible OLED displays, while allowing the institute to advance its research into the technology, including uses for defence, military and consumer applications, states a report on the Marketwire website.
The tool is already in use, having passed all acceptance criteria set out by the FDC.
