China to increase output for OLED products

Manufacturers in China are bolstering their output and R&D for OLEDs, based on a broadening market base.

OLED output in China is expected to increase in order to meet demands estimated by iSuppliAccording to market research company iSuppli, shipments of AMOLED displays will reach 271 million units by 2015, while global capacity is forecast to achieve 2.6 million square metres, up from 890,000 in 2011. Local OLED yield hit 1.4 million units in 2010, a year-on-year growth of 38%, reports Global Sources.

China is still falling behind other Asian countries when it comes to electronics, and in June 2011, the China OLED Industry Alliance was formed, to prevent a similar fate with the display technology
