CopyTele has signed a dual licence agreement with AU Optronics for nano display and e-paper technologies.
The terms of the licence allow AUO exclusive access to the technology and patents surrounding e-paper displays, plus the rights to sub-licence. The agreement grants AUO non-exclusive access to CopyTele's nano display technology. The US company receives around $10 million (€6.8 million) in licensing fees, with the possibility of additional royalty payments, reports AZO Nano.
CopyTele states that its nanotechnology is suitable for all types of applications, from handheld to large-screen applications.
