Technology manufacturer DuPont is to receive a $920,000 (€707,000) grant from the Delaware Strategic Fund to improve manufacturing of OLEDs for use in displays.
The company is planning to use the funding, as well as $30 million of its own money, to develop a small prototype manufacturing facility at its Stine-Haskell research centre. DuPont hopes to produce a process technology that allows large-format displays to be manufacturered at an attractive price for the consumer market, reports the Delaware Online website.
The project will create 35 new jobs within the company, although there is no plan at present to build a larger facility for mass manufacture of OLEDs.
