Flexible phone brings concept closer to reality

A research team from Queen's University has built a working flexible phone, bringing a much talked-about concept a step closer to reality.

The PaperPhone features a 9.5cm flexible screen and has a number of applicationsThe device, being dubbed the PaperPhone, features a 9.5cm greyscale e-ink screen and can even play music and allow users to read ebooks. The device responds to different bends, or can be written on using a stylus. The working concept is reminesent of Nokia's Morph mobile device, and the Flex Mobile, both considered a potential future application of the mobile phone market.

According to The Canadian Press, the PaperPhone will eventually be designed to fold, allowing users to fit them into even the smallest spaces.
