The Holst Centre has announced a partnership with Ntact to develop technology enabling patterned deposition of homogeneous film layers on flexible foils.
Such layers are useful for large scale manufacturing of organic electronic technologies, such as OLED lighting and photovoltaics. Ntact will bring their knowledge of fully integrated deposition systems for the microelectronics, especially their Selective Area Coating technology. Both groups will now work together to look at ways of mass producing various technologies ready for the commercial market, states a Holst Centre press release.
Ntact's technology will now be jointly developed and applied towards roll-to-roll compatible processes together with other research companies involved in the open-initiative scheme.
