LOPE-C is announced for 2012

Sara Ver-Bruggen - 22 Nov 2011

Plans to combine the LOPE-C and Printed Electronics Europe events, initially announced back in June, have ended with their respective organisers pursuing plans for their own separate events as before.

The 2012 LOPE-C event will take place on 19-20 June in Munich, Germany. Meanwhile LOPE-C, the official exhibition and conference of the Organic and Printed Electronics Association (OE-A), will continue its partnership with Messe München.

LOPE-C will run on the same dates as the original combined event, of 19-20 June 2012 at the International Congress Centre in Munich, Germany. IDTechEx's event will be held in Berlin, Germany on 3-4 April 2012.

Both events are anticipating respective attendances in excess of 1,200 visitors. LOPE-C has had 30% increases on attendance each year, according to OE-A managing director Klaus Hecker.

LOPE-C growth

He assures that next year's event will have more exhibition space, compared with the 2011 Frankfurt show. This is to accommodate stands of device developers, materials suppliers and also larger booths for equipment suppliers, for demonstrating complete and partial production lines in action.

Hecker says the 2012 event will reflect the industry's present status in showing how far the organic and printed electronics industry has come: where each year more devices and components are entering the market, or have entered the pilot and pre-commercial phase of development.

The growing significance of the industry is reflected in the figures quoted in a report by Markets and Markets, which forecasts that sales in organic and printed electronics will increase by over 100% by 2015 to around $25 billion (€18.5 billion).
