China is establishing itself as an OLED display supplier, and is moving from the mobile phone market to larger-sized displays, according to a survey issued at the Consumer Electronics Market China 2011 event.
A report from BusinessWire indicates that the OLED has established itself as the core of the third-generation display, especially with the uptake of smartphones following the success of Apple's venture into the market.
AMOLED displays are found on the high-end mobile phones, and sales revenues of these have continued to grow as the market has expanded. According to the report, China's OLED shipment reached 1.3 million sets, up 38% year-on-year, which was attributable to both the growing market demand and the increase in the manufacturers' capacities.
