Samsung Electronics has entered into a patent licencing agreement with Evident Technologies for its quantum dot LED technology.
The agreement, reported by EE Herald, allows Samsung access to Evident's patent portfolio for all quantum dot-related content, from manufacture of the nanomaterials to their use in production. It is thought the agreement will allow Samsung to further the use of QLED displays and bring them to market.
Evident is currently developing next generation thermoelectric applications using their quantum dot technologies.
