Korean technology manufacturer Samsung is considering merging its OLED displays operation within the parent company.
Samsung Mobile Display looks after the company's OLED displays in smartphones and, more recently, televisions. The division has achieved a high level of success in popularising the technology, which is now found in a number of Samsung phones.
The merger would allow for a comprehensive parts division to handle operations, reports The Korea Times. The company is to merge its LED division by April 2012.
Samsung Mobile Display also provides OLED technology for other smartphone manufacturers, such as Nokia.
