Technology company Samsung is still continuing development of its flexible plastic displays, despite reports raising concerns about delays.
The company has announced it is continuing with plans to release flexible displays during 2013. Samsung has said it will use a plastic substrate for the technology, although there is no detail about the use of a flexible encapsulation film, leaving questions about the degree of flexibility. There is no detail about whether the displays will be available commercially, or used in prototype devices, reports the Wall Street Journal.
Should the displays come to market, there is likely to be a patent battle with Apple, who earlier this year, submitted the patent for a flexible display used in a commercial product.
