Samsung are planning to mass produce flexible AMOLED displays next year, having established a joint venture with Japanese company Ube Kosan.
Having launched a new AMOLED display smartphone, the Korean company is now planning to bring to the market a flexible screen, which can be bent or rolled, and used by consumers on a daily basis. Ube Kosan will deliver the required plastic substrate materials, according to a report on the TechSpot website.
The electronics giant is also looking to introduce wrist watches with these flexible displays, which follow a prototype launched in May 2011.
