Korean technology manufacturer Samsung is to hold a major reshuffle of its business to cut costs after the global financial crisis.
As part of the planned movement, the company is looking to merge its LCD department with Samsung Mobile Display. This is not seen as necessary due to poor business, as SMD is pushing forward with OLED technology in smartphones and televisions, but would help to streamline the two divisions at the executive level, reports Asiaone Business.
The LCD division has already seen change this year, with one third of the executives, including the CEO and vice president, removed due to poor trading conditions.
