Samsung's Infuse-4G, the first mobile phone with a Super AMOLED Plus display, has started to ship in the US on the AT&T network.
The phone claims to be the thinnest smartphone available, says a report on the OLED Info website. The 4.5-inch screen offers 50% more pixels and is also thinner, brighter, and more efficient than former Super AMOLED displays. The use of more sub-pixels allows for a clearer display image although resolution is actually lower.
Samsung are planning to move to a new manufacturing process, which will allow for a resolution of 300ppi. It is expected others will look to develop the technology, as a response to Apple's Retina Display.
