Silver nanoparticle ink to be produced by Korean firm

A technology transfer deal between an Israeli University and a Korean company marks a first joint venture in the use of ink from silver-coated copper particles for printed electronics, reports The Korea Herald.

Vaxan Steel will develop the process of using ink from silver coated copper particlesVaxan Steel will develop a process for the low-cost conductive inks, which can be used in existing applications such as RFID and OLEDs. The deal also gives Vaxan an exclusive licence to commercialise the technology in Asia.

The process was originally developed at Yissum Research Development, the technology transfer company of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The university will receive compensation for research plus royalties from future sales.
