The University of Texas El Paso has received $9 million (€6.8 million) in funding to build a new printed electronics centre.
The university will develop advanced manufacturing technologies based on printed electronics with the funding, which is being provided in equal parts by the Texas Emerging Technology Fund, defence firm Lockheed Martin and the University of Texas System.
Work to accommodate the new centre began in late 2010, says industry news website Product Design & Development.
