Tata Steel and Dyesol are expanding their photovoltaics (PV) development project based in Shotton, Wales, with a €12.5 million investment.
The project will develop the world's first continuously manufactured dye-sensitised solar products on steel, according to a report on The Leader. The companies will invest in the existing PV Accelerator Centre, creating another 20 jobs.
The project has already determined the PV cell structure needed on steel, along with manufacturing processes and materials needed. The companies hope to establish a product, process and supply chain that can be commercialised.
