Ten new multi-year organic electronics projects have received funding from the European Commission's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) in the past two months.
The projects have been granted a total of €70 million, and include a partnership involving the Centre Suisse d'Electronique et de Microelectronique to develop organic photovoltaics (OPV), receiving €14.2 million, and the XD10 project led by IMEC to expend OPV lifetime and performance. The European Commission is also providing €6 million to the funding competition OLAE+, which is currently receiving first stage applications for development of organic electronics, reports the Optics.org website.
The total funding offered by FP7 in the last two months stands at €110 million, with 23 projects in total receiving investment.
