UK company Eight19 has announced a new IP agreement with Cambridge Enterprise that will assist with the development of high-performance, low-cost plastic solar cells.
Under the terms of the agreement, reported on the company's website, Eight19 has licensed intellectual property from Cambridge Enterprise, the University of Cambridge's commercialisation group, which allows it to exclusively licence patents created by researchers. The deal allows the solar development company access to around 50 top researchers, which will allow it to strengthen its technology department.
Eight19, a university spin-out company, is focusing on the development of low-cost organic solar cells that can be manufactured in high volumes.
