Process Engineer - GSI Technologies
Location: Chicago, USA
GSI Technologies, LLC (GSI) is a medium size, privately held, growing manufacturer in the exciting area of Printed Electronics. GSI specializes in advanced functional printing technologies and offers a wide range of high growth products, including medical sensors, electroluminescent lamps and smart card circuits and displays. GSI also manufactures Industrial Graphic labels and is ISO 9001 certified.
The Process Engineer will be responsible for successfully bringing new product opportunities from concept analysis to commercial production by utilizing in-depth engineering knowledge, strong product management skills, and working cross-functionally with business management, quality, and manufacturing. Be the lead technical contact on new products and process technologies, and effectively represent these programs to internal and external stakeholders.
Duties:
- Within a gated product development process, lead fully specified new product activities from product development to launch.
- Work with external customers and business management to define product requirements, and further refine those requirements into specifications over the course of the development process.
- Function as the technical/engineering representative on the customer-facing teams.
- Manage trials, prototyping, and initial manufacturing runs for new products, working closely with production operators and floor management.
- Support the transfer of new materials or processes from technology partners into a production environment.
- Prepare reports on material, product, or equipment performance for internal and external customers.
- Document all aspects of the production process, drafting work instructions, print plans, and other required ISO documentation.
- Assist the quality assurance organization in establishing proper quality metrics, required measurement tools, and the necessary control plans (statistical process control).

Principal Scientist - Organic Photodiodes and O-LED Development
This group leader role has responsibility for the development of procedures for the preparation of new and existing organic photodiodes and O-LEDs, aligned with the overall business strategy. In particular the role will investigate improvements to existing designs to extend the optical performance of the core technology.
Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer the ideal candidate will be qualified to Ph.D. level in physics or related discipline and have a minimum of 5 years experience in the development of organic photodiodes, O-LEDs and optical detection systems. Experience in the design of electronic circuitry would be an advantage.
