Konica Minolta has announced plans to split its OLED division into a new subsidiary of the company.
The company has been driving business development for the commercialisation of OLED lighting, and believes the split will aid in this venture, and expand the scope of operations and business developments. The new division, Konica Minolta Opto, will likely be incorporated in April 2012, according to a report by 4-Traders. The assets of the original entity will transfer to the new division.
Konica aims to optimise its facilities and staff resources through the split, allowing the development of OLED lighting panels to accelerate towards market.
