Moser Baer Technologies and Universal Display (UDC) have entered into a licensing agreement for material supply and technology aid for OLED panel manufacturing.
The deal pursues a plan announced by both firms in 2011, which saw them receive $4 million (€3.1 million) from the US Department of Energy to create the first white OLED lighting pilot developing facility in the country. Moser Baer will certify UDC's proprietary PHOLED and other OLED technologies and acquire the company's energy-efficient UniversalPHOLED resources for white OLED panel manufacturing, reports the KozMedia website.
The deal is expected to push forward the production of OLED lighting in the US, and panels will be made available to luminaire manufacturers for a variety of products.
