Philips is to invest €40 million into the production of OLED lighting solutions.
The investment in its facility at Aachen, Germany, will lead to increased availability of OLED lighting applications for design purposes in decorating and ambiance. The additional capacity is expected to be available to the company in 2012, according to a report by The Financial.
Philips also recently opened the Lumiblade creative lab in Aachen, allowing designers to get experience of OLED as a material for use in their creations.
