A new report, OLED Lighting, A review of the patent landscape, shows a high growth in materials patents for the technology.
Published by Cintelliq, the report states that patent filings during 2001-2010 grew by 56%. Those filed by academics and research institutes grew by nearly 200%, while ancillary aspects, such as dimmer units, power units, mountings and fixtures, achieved the highest growth rate, states a report on ElectroIQ.
The report identifies more than 2760 patents focused on white OLED technology for lighting applications.
