Universal Display (UDC) has entered into a licensing agreement with Germany-based technology centre Fraunhofer, to provide its phosphorescent OLED materials.
The Fraunhofer Centre for Organic Materials and Electronic Devices Dresden (COMEDD) will develop white OLED lighting panels for market production, using UDC's materials under a two-year agreement between the companies, reports a press release hosted by Sys-Con Media. It is hoped that the R&D will lead to a strong market impact for OLED lighting.
COMEDD is aiming to develop panels with enhanced energy efficiency for white OLED lighting, using the UDC materials.
