E Ink holdings and Seiko Epson have worked together to develop a high-resolution e-paper suitable for the tablet computer market.
The project integrates E Ink's EPD with Epson developed controller ICs and processors, which feature quick page browsing and advanced user interfaces, to create a 300dpi display.
The new display is clearer than current e-paper products, allowing for complex items such as graphs and drawings to be shown, according to a report on the DigiTimes Displays website.
E Ink has indicated that the target market of the new displays, aimed toward mobile devices, will be Japan and China for the time being.
