Consumer electronics giant Samsung is the latest company to turn away from e-paper, says technology news website Übergizmo.
The company will maintain a presence in e-readers, but will release a new model in 2011 using an LCD, according to the article.
A number of e-reader developments have been shelved in recent months. Plastic Logic withdrew its planned first-generation product, the Que, saying the market had moved on. Further casualties include iRex, Foxit and Interead, all of which have struggled in the e-reader industry.
