Thin Film Electronics (Thinfilm) has entered into a partnership with Polyera, to develop organic semiconductor materials for flexible memory devices.
The companies will co-develop gravure-based ink formulations for use in high-throughput printing equipment and will prototype integrated printed system products with Thinfilm Addressable Memory. This brings integrated systems such as smart sensor tags for retail use, closer to commercial availability, reports Marketwatch.
The integrated logic circuits also mean the memory can be produced using a roll-to-roll technique, allowing for larger quantities at lower production costs.
Thinfilm recently demonstrated its non-volatile memory device, which is the organic equivalent of a CMOS circuitry.
