Taiwanese company Chi Lin Technology has formed a new subsidiary for the design and manufacture of e-paper modules, for use in commercial and industrial displays.
Pervasive Displays will develop e-paper, focusing on the broadcast range of the low-power displays. Initial target markets include logistics, retail price tags and other areas where large paper usage leads to a high output of industrial waste.
The company hope the low-power, sunlight-readable displays will have a significant impact.
The report on the PR USA website also states that the e-paper market is expected to reach $9 billion (€6.3 billion) by 2018, thanks to information from maret research firm DisplaySearch.
