Printed battery supplier Blue Spark has announced plans to open a new high-volume production facility in the US.
The printing and production line will extend the company's capability to produce disposable, flexible carbon zinc batteries which are used to power printed electronics in commercial and industrial packaging. The new facility will be based in West Bend, Wisconsin, reports the Marketwatch website.
Blue Spark's products are used in a number of applications, including pharmaceutical packaging and for powering RFID tags for product tracking. The new plant is predicted to be capable of producing 300 million batteries per year.
